P1, P2 and P3 are versatile electrical insulation materials. They are manufactured using fine layers of phenolic paper and exhibit high strength and excellent electrical properties coupled with low moisture absorption. There is a choice of grades dependent upon voltage or other insulation criteria. P grades are used in low temperature and electrical applications where rigid non-metallic insulation is needed.
F1, F2 and F3 are multi-purpose insulation materials manufactured using course, medium and fine weave phenolic cottons. They have excellent strength properties and very good wear resistance characteristics. They are commonly used in general mechanical applications where electrical insulation properties are also required. Medium and coarse weave grades are used for larger and more rugged components with the finer weave utilised for higher definition parts and machined finish. The finer weave also offers higher strength in lower thicknesses as well as consistent dimensional stability. Both P and F grades are available in sheet tube and rod form.
